The Wiched Love (El amor brujo). Falla. Vigo

THE WICHED LOVE (EL AMOR BRUJO)
Five musical performances and a series of conferences is the proposal of the Opera Friends Association for the last quarter of the year. It will begin the season with the original version of “El Amor Brujo”, Manuel de Falla composed for the singer Pastora Imperio. In this case, the interpretation will be done by Ginesa Ortega, the same singer who was acclaimed by public and critics for the recording of 1991 with the Orchestra of the Teatro Lliure conducted by Josep Pons. The production to be seen in Vigo (Galicia, Spain), is the same that will travel, within a few months, to the Carnegie Hall in New York. It will be the 4th October at the theatre of the Novacaixagalicia Cultural Center.
Only five days later, on the same stage, you can see the zarzuela “La del manojo de Rosas”, of Pablo Sorozábal. The same production of zarzuela which was premiered, 5 years ago, at the Euskalduna Theatre in Bilbao. The main roles will be José Julián Frontal, Hevila Cardeña, Carlos Crooke and Aurora Frías. The stage direction will be in charge of Lorenzo Moncloa and the music by Carlos Cuesta. Both Frontal and Crooke, will perform these same roles on the current season of the Teatro de la Zarzuela de Madrid, in the months of December and January.
Third extravaganza is Il Trovatore by G. Verdi, which you can see on December 22 at the Novacaixagalicia theatre. Production which you can see in Vigo, with stage direction by Nacho García, is the same one that has been in such important seasons as the Seville or will be seen on the Pamplona AGAO. Carmen Solís will be Leonora; Eduardo Sandoval, Manrico; Xavier Galán, Conte di Luna; Nuria Lorenzo, Azucena; and Angel Jimenez, Ferrando. With the participation of Vigo 430 Symphony Orchestra conducted by Francisco Antonio Moya.
Among  these three great shows there will be two piano recitals, performed on 25th October, by Severino Rey Ortiz, and, on 29th November, by Anne Boëls. In both cases it’s the List paraphrase of Verdi and Wagner, respectively.
The program will be completed with a conference under the title In the twilight of the Verdi-Wagner Bicentenary. On 4th November, Guillermo García Mayor will develop the Wagner theme in images: the best scenery of the 21st century. On 8th November, will come the Hispanic Verdi, by Andrea Merli. and on 18th December the El Trovador: the eternal law of desire roundtable will be developed.
