Seattle Symphony presents two-day Shostakovich Concerto Festival on January

Seattle Symphony presents the Shostakovich Concerto Festival on January 19 & 20 in two concerts that feature all six of the composer’s solo instrumental concertos. With Associate Conductor Pablo Rus Broseta at the helm, the concerts feature three young stars, pianist Kevin Ahfat, winner of the 2015 Seattle Symphony Piano Competition; violinist Aleksey Semenenko, winner of the 2012 Young Concert Artists International Auditions; and cellist Edgar Moreau, First Prize winner of the 2014 Young Concert Artists International Auditions and one of the European Concert Hall Organization’s 2016–2017 Rising Stars.

This year’s festival follows the highly successful RachFest and TchaikFest in previous seasons and reinforces the Symphony’s commitment to giving Seattle audiences the unique opportunity to hear Shostakovich’s timeless concertos interpreted by emerging artists.
