Yesterday was a very special day; we began a new year and our Orchestra made its appearance in the scenarios. The place chosen for such an important event was the emblematic Teatro de la Zarzuela of Madrid, whose stage has already seen the best orchestras of the world.

The night began with a crowded Teatro de la Zarzuela, eager to celebrate the new year with the rhythm of waltzes and polkas, invaded by the Viennese spirit. The Barbieri Symphony Orchestra did not disappoint, and gave a concert of outstanding quality, conducted by Óliver Díaz, who knew how to get the best out of the Orchestra and excite the audience with his delivery and his good sense of humour.

All that we attended the concert; we enjoyed a first part marked by the incredible voices of the tenor Enrique Ferrer and soprano Lorena Valero, who gave us magical moments with their complicity on stage. The soloists performed works of j. Strauss II and f. Lehár, accompanied by an orchestra that demonstrated its maturity and its artistic quality.

The Orchestra was the protagonist of a second part full of surprises, which played polkas, waltzes and marches, from family Strauss and j. Hellmesberguer, of great technical difficulty, that our musicians knew how to interpret to perfection, making the public to enjoy and  increase its delivery.

In this concert could not miss the most Viennese encores, «The March of peasants», «The Blue Danube», and of course, «The Radetzky March», with which the theatre vibrated.

One of the most special moments of the night came with the polka «Pleasure train», when our conductor, Óliver Díaz, became the driver of our Orchestra, that following the rhythm of flag and whistle, filled with humour the Teatro de la Zarzuela. Also we want to highlight another great moment of the night, which excited us and that was the best proof of the delivery of our public, when a spontaneous wanted to thank us making him enjoy so much with our concert. We thank you all, because without your support this great dream would not come true. We wish you a New Year full of good wishes!
